DIE SELEKTION (DE)
"The new innocence",
Die Selektion's self description, is the first of many enthralling contradictions raised by the band.
Fast beats, cutting bass lines, bleak and subcooled synth layers, and then - the most unusual instrument: the
trumpet. The plain brilliancy of how this works out leads to one question only:
Why has no one done this before?
It doesn't happen often that a new, young band finds such a good reception like these fledging boys from Die Selektion - already their very first demos caused a lot of attention and euphoria -
a rare
achievement in the dark scene.
Maybe their youth is the secret to their self confidence and fearless approach, they overcame their idols easily and present the best possible emancipation from giant bands like DAF, Nitzer Ebb or Die Krupps.

++PERFORMANCE and VISUALS++
JESSI T WALSH / THREADBARE MVMT
WATCH HERE
JJessi T Walsh makes site-responsive
performance vignettes as threadbare movement, investigating material and
corporeal bodies, decomposition and self-sabotage. These vignettes show
the fractured body as place, the gesture as sculpture, the grotesque as
mirror and the peepshow as conversation.
At Brave
Exhibitions she'll bring two experimental, highly participatory actions
based on the concept of anonymity and the human touch.
Act
One:
Stick your hands through a gloryhole embroidered into a bedsheet to
receive anonymous sensory gestures with unknown media.
Act Two:
Become blindfolded in velvet and enjoy a dance with another blindfolded stranger as you are serenaded at close range.
Risk-takers and daredevils, show yourselves...
